What is Mica?
A naturally occurring silicate mineral, ground and pressed into thin reflective platelets.
Why is Mica in the formula?
It is the body of the baked pressed formulas — the platelet structure is what lets a powder sit flat on skin, diffuse light instead of sitting on top of it, and carry pigment evenly across the face.

Where does Mica come from?
Verified ethical mica sourcing. Mica has a documented supply-chain problem in parts of the world, which is a practice, not a property of the mineral. We buy from suppliers who can trace and audit their mines, and we say so on the label rather than hiding the ingredient behind a proprietary blend.
In some formulas, not others
Mica is in our baked pressed line and is not in our Liquid Foundation. Different skins keep different avoid-lists, so we formulate both ways rather than telling you which list is correct.
