Minerals

Sericite Mica

What it is

A finer-milled variety of mica with a smaller, silkier platelet than standard cosmetic mica.

Sericite Mica — macro reference

Why it is here

It refines the texture of the base. Where mica gives the powder its body, sericite gives it slip — the fine particle size is what makes a pressed mineral feel silky rather than chalky under a brush.

What you may notice

  • Silky pay-off
  • Fine, powdery slip
  • Blurs the look of texture

Sourcing

Verified ethical mica sourcing, same standard as our standard-grade mica.

In some formulas, not others

Sericite is a mica. If mica is on your avoid list, avoid the pressed line rather than reading the two names as different ingredients.

Beautiful!!! This pressed foundation goes on like silk! I have many wrinkles but still feel confident wearing this. … I will order another in case they run out of this color. Non toxic and no titanium dioxide!!!! Love this!
